Why I have to bear the fact that there is sort of a firewall in CELCOM that is slowing the traffic down or is there an unexplainable issue after the porn star scandal that is bugging them down? Seriously.. this is bad..seriously bad. 3.02MB downloaded in 1hour 40 mins? Come off it…Facebook is super slow and among other stuff like Zynga and sort.
Someone get a move on… even 28.8k dialup is far faster than this crappy service or shall I utilise GPRS? That is really poor service for Celcom now….
Celcom is really at it again…or someone in Celcom is…. with the clip following:
I will follow you..follow you where ever you may go….. it reminds me of the Simpsons and something lewd from South Park where it’s really funny..but made by some one who hates Digi. Anyway..the rates sucks anyway in Digi….
Yeah.. I am a bad person in backing things up and in the times of RAID-10 et al, I still behave in the ancient ways, and resulting in bad mirrors of my files. That is not all, I also do have a tendency of NOT BACKING MY SQL and THEME UP..and so…what do I get? somewhat full of rubbish.
That is just happened or is still happening to my Zyraz Master servers. I was synchronising stuff and data from Hostgator to PRONETHosting which seriously needs alot of data updates and stuff like that. The problem is that the critical data are NOT MIRRORED..and errgh! I am faced with issues again.
You see, there are many things to do, like 15 Wordpress blogs to reset and sync, 2 CRM systems, Support Ticket systems, AWBS for domain and hosting which are big huge files for your information, plus many data to upload. With the CELCOM giving me slow upload speeds, I am really heavy on the load and no way I am able to do all these pronto.
Having said that, I am trying to contemplate if the Microsoft Azure Platform is the better alternative for me as the way I see it, having a dedicated 1.6Ghz CPU with unlimited RAM resources (1.75GB I think) is quite a task despite the small bandwidth (10GB standard) and 7GB duplex data transfer for US and 2.5GB for Asia Pacific. In all, it cost $150 per TB delivered for US ($100/TB in) and $450 / TB outbound for Asia Pacific (well, $150/TB if it’s INBOUND only)…but way it works now is that if you do web hosting 12% in, 70% out and rest is in between, depending on your regional targeting, and if you use the High End Core which is a 8-Core (similar to 2 Xeon Quad Core CPU) with 14GB RAM and 2048GB of Storage Instance but then, I need to define how and what to do as compared to a full proper instance in my Windows Server 2008 running T4200 Core-2 2.0Ghz laptop..which is sluggish even with 4GB RAM because mainly due to the hard disk.
Even then, I have to migrate the VHD or Virtual Hard Drives up to the servers to run them… errgh! The pain.
Sorry guys that I can’t get my butt down to Singapore but here is the thing, I am dead broke..and it’s over 400km away. Yes, my dad is in Changi General hospital Singapore for a suspected stroke. It’s the second impact that happened to him, which the last was about 4-5 years ago, leaving him quite weak and without sensory nerves on one side of the face, loss of motor skills and more.
I wish I can go..but I am broke. money is super tight….and if I get back to Singapore… I may land myself in the same ward..as I am not that good of a condition myself.
Sorry guys. Unless God give me few thousand dollars to clear out to get down.
Zynga let me to try out the Beta preview of Mafia Wars Bangkok in Facebook platform and of which the gameplay is similar, other than that alot of the jobs require you to PAY BAHT (not Bhat U silly coders) to do some stuff.
But of which, I really need to point to them that the value of THAI BAHT is so small, and you expect to bribe a Thai Prison warden with B$500 to smuggle something? Come on, a liter of PETROL (GASOLINE) cost about right now B$40 (which 1 Baht / Koks as the southern locals have it is worth RM1 = US$0.25!) per liter and so, what on earth are they doing? Don’t they do some sort of research in the currency?? How much things are worth? 500 bath can’t even fill my gas tank up…let alone pay a bribe. Heck, my insurance premium to enter Thailand is 290B a day!
Graphics wise, sucks. They really wanna us to think that the Thais are all such a much of a gangster world with rival factions of Yakuza and Triads? THAT IS CHINA FOR HEAVEN SAKE. Here they fight between the Muslim South and the Buddhist North! Thais are of peace..and I believe they really need to get their heads in. If they are talking about Vietnam or Laos, I MAY BELIEVE, but yakuza? Please.. they have nothing to do in Thailand.
Please, the graphics depicting the people and acts need better artwork. Look and read the news and papers and what people photograph on the web. Thais are more Malay like, tanned and dark, not yellow like they have Jaundice or something.
Google engineering team revealed today as a sneak to what they are doing with the Google Chome OS, which is a rival to the iPad featuring multi touch pull and drag feature, and just as how you look or see in the movies. Well, all I care is I want 15 inches, fully touch screen, 320GB hard disk at least with 16GB ram and quad core cpu which can last the battery over 24 hours and yeah..I want full multiband 3.5G+ with 4G on unlicensed band so we can do WiMAX over peer to peer….
Eventually, the weight and other stuff is also a huge consideration… and price must be less than $500! With the Chinese doing the design, and cut throat prices, I will wait for the soft preview launch in June. That is what the insider is saying.
